Underage Gambling Policy
Belleville Casino: adults 19 and over only. No exceptions. This page covers how we block minors, how adults at home can help, and our response if someone under 19 slips past our checks.
A. 19+ only
The lights are for grown-ups. 19 and over, nobody younger.
Registering, depositing, playing, joining promotions and earning Belleville Rewards are all limited to people aged 19 or older. Minors have no trial mode, and the age limit cannot be bypassed.
Players can join wherever the law gives the green light, and we apply Canadian rules on anti-money laundering, age and identity checks. Underage gambling is against the law, and we treat any hint of it as urgent. None of our ads aim at anyone under 19, and we steer clear of imagery that might attract them.
B. Shared devices
One tablet, a whole household. Lock it down.
Phones, laptops and tablets often pass from hand to hand at home. A few habits keep your account yours alone:
- Log out after every session. Closing the tab is not enough.
- Stop your browser from saving passwords for our site.
- Lock the device: PIN code, fingerprint, or face unlock.
- Set up separate user profiles so young people have their own space.
- Never hand over your account, let a young person place a bet for you, or play with them watching over your shoulder.
- Keep your card, e-wallet logins and Flexepin vouchers out of reach.
- Switch off casino notifications on any phone a child might pick up.
The account holder answers for every bet placed on the account. If someone under 19 uses it, the consequences in section E apply to that account.
C. How we check age
We do not take a birthday on trust.
- At sign-up: enter your date of birth. Under 19? Blocked on the spot.
- Before any deposit: an electronic check confirms your name, age and address against trusted data sources.
- Documents when needed: when the electronic check is not enough, we ask for photo ID and, if helpful, a selfie with you holding it. Accepted documents are listed on our Account Verification page.
- Payment checks: the name on every deposit method must match the verified account holder.
- Location checks: we verify that you are in a place where our service is permitted.
- Ongoing signals: account behaviour, messages to our team and information from parents or guardians can all trigger a fresh age check.
D. Parental controls and filtering tools
Your devices come with locks built in. Switch them on.
Parental controls are built into the settings of most phones, tablets, computers and game consoles. They can block gambling sites and apps, limit browsing to approved content and require a password before anything new is downloaded.
- App stores can be set so that every download or purchase needs an adult's approval.
- Many home routers let you filter entire categories of websites, including gambling, across every device connected to the network.
- Filtering software can add a further layer on shared computers.
- Payment cards and e-wallets can be kept off any device a young person uses.
Tools help, but talk counts too. Show young people what gambling is, why it has an age limit and why the house edge never goes away. One calm, honest chat often does more than any filter.
E. If a minor is found
Account shut down on the spot. No exceptions.
- The account is suspended immediately: no deposits, no play, no withdrawals.
- We investigate and request documents from the account holder.
- If we confirm a player under 19 owns the account, we shut it permanently and void every win.
- Deposits are handled in line with Canadian law.
- If someone under 19 used an adult's account, we close that account too and may turn down any future sign-up from the same person.
- Where the law demands it, the case goes to the relevant authorities.
