Account Verification
At Belleville Casino, no money moves until three checks clear: who you are, that you are old enough, and your playing location. Below, we cover each check, the documents we ask for and how we handle them.
A. Why we verify
Real names. Real ages. Clean money.
Players are welcome where local law permits, and we meet Canadian rules on anti-money laundering, age and identity. Checking your details is how we stay compliant, and it works in your favour too.
- It stops someone else from opening an account with your details.
- It keeps anyone under 19 off our floor.
- It blocks stolen cards and borrowed e-wallets.
- It stops criminals from using casino play to disguise where money came from.
We run these checks before you make a first deposit, plus a location check that confirms our service is allowed where you are. Clear them early and your payouts move fast later.
B. When checks fall short
No verification, no play. Simple as that.
Until your checks are complete, your account stays locked for deposits, play and withdrawals. We email you with exactly what is missing, so there is no guesswork.
If documents never arrive, do not match the account, appear altered or belong to someone else, the account stays restricted and we can close it. Any balance is then handled in line with Canadian law. Opening a second account to get around a check breaches our Terms & Conditions, and every linked account is closed.
C. Source of funds
Bigger money gets a simple question: where did it come from?
When deposits rise sharply, do not fit what we know about you, or reach levels Canadian rules flag for closer attention, we can request proof of where the money originated. Useful documents include:
- Recent payslips or an employment letter
- Bank statements showing the funds arriving and leaving
- Sale papers for a home, vehicle or investment
- Inheritance or estate documents
- Business accounts, for self-employed players
For larger or more complex cases we may also look at source of wealth: how your overall savings and assets were built over time. New deposits pause until we have what we need. Every deposit method, whether Interac e-Transfer, Visa, Google Pay, MuchBetter, Flexepin or Neteller, must belong to you, the account holder.
D. PEP and sanctions screening
Every account gets screened, at sign-up and beyond.
Every name gets screened for PEP status. A politically exposed person is someone in a high-profile public post, either now or in the recent past, and the label also covers relatives and close associates. A PEP match is never an automatic refusal. Instead it sets off enhanced checks, approval from senior management and, usually, a request to explain source of wealth.
Every account is screened against sanctions lists as well. A confirmed match means the account cannot be opened or stay open, and we follow every step Canadian law demands. We run the screen again whenever the lists change or your details are updated.
E. Identity and age checks
Show us once. Play with confidence after.
Signing up? Enter your legal name in full, spelled precisely as it appears on your ID, plus your date of birth, where you live and an email address. First, we run these details through reliable data sources electronically. When that check can't confirm you, we'll request documents:
- Photo identity: a current passport, a Canadian driver's licence or a provincial photo ID card, valid and unexpired.
- Address: a recent document, for example a utility bill, an official government letter or a bank statement. Your name and address on it need to match the account.
- Payment ownership: Visa: snap the front of your card, covering the middle digits. Neteller, MuchBetter or Google Pay: grab a screen capture of your account showing your name. Interac e-Transfer: a bank statement where the transfer is listed.
- Selfie: a crisp shot of your face with your ID held up beside it, needed any time we have to match a face to a document.
Full colour. No edits. Every edge of the page in frame. Upload your documents in the account area, or attach them to an email for [email protected]. Anyone found to be under 19 falls straight under our Underage Gambling Policy.
Verified and good to go? Withdrawals to Interac e-Transfer, Visa or Neteller usually land in one to four hours. A bank wire needs no more than 12 hours. Minimum withdrawal: C$100 (Interac/eCheck). The casino adds zero fees to deposits and withdrawals.
F. Ongoing monitoring
Verification is not a one-night show.
We continuously monitor for activity that looks out of place:
- Money deposited and pulled straight back out with barely a spin played
- One payment method used across several accounts
- Logins from locations that do not match your details
- Sudden swings in your deposit amounts or deposit frequency
We also ask for fresh documents when your ID expires or your details change. Moved house or changed your name? Tell us by email and we will update your file.
G. Record keeping and reporting
We keep the paperwork. The law requires it.
Identity records, verification documents and transaction histories are retained for as long as Canadian law requires. They are held in secure storage, and only staff whose compliance duties call for access may open them. Our Your Privacy page sets out how we protect personal information.
Where Canadian law requires, suspicious transactions, plus some large ones, get reported to the authorities. The law forbids us from revealing whether any report exists, so we cannot discuss this subject with you.
H. Contact
Questions about a document? One address.
Email [email protected] with Verification in the subject line. Add the email address on your account, tell us what you need, and we reply by email. Someone claims to represent us through another channel? Never send them documents.
